Biography: Raphaël Bastide

I live in Montreuil (FR), I teach in Paris and do some visual and sonic art. I went to north Norway by train and it was both epic (lots of night train difficulties) and beautiful (Norway’s nature is incredibly beautiful).

Short description: Live coded CSS in the train to Stockholm.
Long description: During a train trip from Narvik (NO) to Stockholm (SE), I shot a 5 minutes uncut footage of the landscape I traveled through. Then I made an HTML page with the resulting video as a background and improvised a CSS animated composition over it. The CSS is live-coded in the Firefox browser’s developer panel as long as the video is played.

Biography: 8rix

8rix is an artist from Paris who uses his phone to make chiptune music, melted with everyday sounds he records on-the-fly.
As a music enthusiast he likes to put some hip-hop, grime, ambient or latino influence among four-on-the-floor tracks. His universe is an unexpected assembly of station announcements, birds singing, reverberated voices, distorted and pitched sounds, children construction games, where trains go on their rails endlessly.
When on stage he works with LimeLimeWire, a multi-gifted artist and ally whose hypnotizing visuals perfectly fit his music.
